In doing research about older women for Old Bean’s Last Fantasy: A Late-Life Coming-of-Age Story, I came across some wonderful books by writers over 50. Besides the beautiful Late-Life Love: A Memoir by Susan Gubar which I have already mentioned on Facebook, I recommend The Weekend by Australian writer Charlotte Wood, a celebration of friendship among septuagenarians that does not shy away from the secret currents underlying friendship.
